Air North moved back into a two-way battle for second place in the Whitehorse Oldtimer League with a 3-2 win Wednesday over the Klondyke Dental Molars.

Kilrich, meanwhile, defeated AON 2-1 Wednesday to maintain its unblemished record of 23 wins and no losses, building its cushion over second place to 18 points.

On Thursday night, EDI returned to its winning ways with a 5-0 shutout over Medicine Chest while Yukon Inn defeated the Firth Rangers 8-3.

Lawrence Crayford, Warren Kapaniuk and Bryce Bekar each scored for Air North with assists coming from Jared Barrault and Andrew Smith, in what was an ongoing battle with the Molars for second place.

Mike Knutson and Mike Blower scored for Klondyke Dental with assists coming from Gord Campbell, Russell Bamford, Dave Bakica and Mike Jim.

Kilrich edged the last place AON on goals by Colin Nash and Elgin Schwantz with Trevor Hale, Doug Janzen and Briar Young contributing assists.

Rick Smith scored AON鈥檚 only goal on assists by Gary Mackellar and Jeff Jensen.

Thursday night, EDI bounced back from a loss Sunday that ended its seven-game undefeated streak on the strength of a shutout by Glen Traverse, a hat trick by Ed Van Randen and a two-goal night from Bill Bohmer.

Ken Vicker, Larry Park and Paul Lackowicz each had two assists while single helpers were recorded by Bob Allison and Bill Bohmer.

Adam Green, the league鈥檚 leading scorer, pushed up his point count last night with two goals and two assists to pave the way for Yukon Inn鈥檚 win.

Ernie Jamieson scored twice for the Inn while single markers were recorded by Marcel Sugre-Sasseville, Shawn McLeod, Greg Charlie and Bruce Williams, who contributed two assists.

The Inn鈥檚 Rob Anderson had three assists and Wayne Vallevand and Gord Kuchler had one each.

Jason Cunning returned fire for the Rangers with a pair of goals while Les Luciuk scored once and assisted on one of Cunning鈥檚 markers. Ryan Hennings added two assists.

With Kilrich dominating, and Air North and Klondyke Dental slugging it out for second and third, there remains a logjam for fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh place, with just three points separating the four teams.
