After this morning鈥檚 win over the Dominican鈥圧epublic, Australia continues to gun for a top-two spot in Pool A action at the 2017 Men鈥檚 World Softball Championship.
Australia won the game 2-1, which was rescheduled for this morning after a rain delay Monday night.
鈥淚t still gives us that opportunity to finish in the 1-2 spot and that鈥檚 what we鈥檙e striving for,鈥 said Australia coach Laing Harrow. 鈥淲e have to keep winning.鈥
The team faces a challenge tonight when they take on Canada, which remains undefeated in pool play.
鈥淐anada has got some outstanding hitters,鈥 said Harrow. 鈥淭hey鈥檙e going to have a lot of crowd support so we just know we have to show up and be prepared to play.鈥
Harrow suspects they will need more than the two runs they scored this morning against the Dominican Republic to beat Canada.
Until that game at 7 p.m., the Australians will enjoy some rest and recovery as they ease out the lactic acid with a visit to the pool at the Canada Summer Games.
Tonight, he said, 鈥淲e鈥檒l put everything at them and give it our best shot.鈥
The Dominican Republic next plays the United States at 5:30 tonight.
