Bell to cycle at national track championship

Watson Lake-born cyclist Zach Bell is expected to play a starring role in the 2013 Canadian Track Championships starting tomorrow.
But the Olympian is just one of the big names expected to race this year's event, which will be held for the second straight year at the Dieppe Velodrome in New Brunswick.
Besides Bell, who is coming off a win at the 2013 Canadian Road Championships, the track championships will attract some of the biggest stars in the sport, including three-time world champion and Olympic medallist Tara Whitten of Edmonton, Olympic medallist Gillian Carleton of Victoria.
Bell currently cycles out of North Vancouver with the Pro-continental Champion System Pro Cycling Team.
The event starts on Wednesday, and will feature all Olympic events for the cadet (U-17), junior (U-19), elite and masters (30+) categories.
The track championships will conclude Sept. 1.
Other top riders expected include Hugo Barrette (QC), Joakim Albert (QC), Stuart Wight (NB), Emile Jean (QC), Jean-Michel Lachance (QC), R茅mi Pelletier-Roy (QC), Ryan Aitcheson (ON), Stephanie Roorda (BC), Sara Byers (ON), Aidan Caves (BC), Eric Johnstone (AB), Marc-Antoine Noel (QC), and Kinley Gibson (AB).
