The City of Whitehorse and Whitehorse Beverages announced an increased sponsorship agreement in support of the Canada Games Centre.
Under the renewed agreement, Whitehorse Beverages will provide more than $100,000 in funding during the next five years.
Already a sponsor of the Coca-Cola Fieldhouse, Whitehorse Beverages has increased their support to include the running track and the flexihall, which will now be known as the Dasani Running Track and the Powerade Flexihall, according to a press release.
"I鈥坵ould like to thank Whitehorse Beverages for this sponsorship,鈥濃坰aid Mayor Dan Curtis. "It is very rewarding to see the business community recognize the value of this fabulous facility to our community and openly show this level of support.鈥
The city is looking at alternate sources of revenue as a way to support operations and reduce costs to taxpayers, added Deputy Mayor Mike Gladish.
"Sponsorships can help cover the costs of our recreation facilities and hundreds of programs that are offered by the city,鈥 he stated.
Additional sponsorship and advertising opportunities are available for local businesses at the Canada Games Centre.
