After beating P.E.I. 3-0 for the territory's first win on the national stage in Sherbrooke, Que., Yukon lost to Newfoundland and Labrador yesterday in five sets.
Yukon won sets one and three by scores of 28-16 and 25-15, respectively, but dropped the others 24-26, 23-25 and 13-15.
Yukon concludes pool play with a record of 1-4, with their other losses coming to Ontario, B.C. and Saskatchewan.
The team will face New Brunswick in the first game of the crossover today.
The women's volleyball team finished 0-5 after failing to win a set.
They were beaten 3-0 by Newfoundland and Labrador this morning in their crossover game.
Swimming
Yukon swimmers have started their individual swims with a flurry of personal bests.
In the 50-m breaststroke, Dannica Nelson put up a personal best 41.09.
Then in the 100-m freestyle, Emily Crist and Nelson both scored top individual times, clocking in at 1:06.88 and 1:05.29, respectively.
Lone male swimmer Ben Janzen swam a 1:02.22, two and a half seconds better than his previous top time.
Last night, the girls 4x50 freestyle relay team was able to edge the N.W.T. thanks to strong swims by Nelson, Crist, Haley Braga and Taylor Harvey.
Soccer
The territory's women's soccer team had a day off yesterday, and will face New Brunswick later today in the first game of the consolation round.
Yukon finished 0-2 in round-robin play with losses to Alberta 8-0, and Nova Scotia 17-0.
The team has struggled with injuries that have sidelined keeper Samantha Burgis, Stephanie Avery and Morgan Paul.
Tennis
Team Yukon finished 1-29 on the tennis courts, but found victory in showing steely determination and earning experience for future events.
Gentianne Graham won the Yukon's sole point after her Ontario opponent forfeited the match to play a qualifier for the Roger's Cup.
Mountain Biking
The mountain bike relay race held Monday at Mount Bellevue saw Yukon cyclists move up positionally.
Starting in 11th, Spencer Skerget was the first to take on the six-km course, moving up three spots to eighth.
Massey Baker also moved the territory up two spots to sixth, before Andrew Savard closed out the race in fine fashion to give the team a sixth-place finish.
The six teams make up the first group of Team Yukon competing in Quebec.
As of Tuesday morning, Ontario led the medal standings with 25, including 11 golds.
Alberta and host Quebec were tied for second with 16 medals each, while British Columbia was the only other province in double digits with 11.
