The Carbon Hill Sled Dog Race will run Saturday at the Lorne Mountain Community Centre.

Now in its 19th year, the popular community race attracts all types of mushers – young, old, amateur and professional.

Races include 10- and 30-mile sled dog races, six- and 30-mile skijor races, and a variety of junior races.

Last year, the race saw more than 50 entries and purse money of up to $1,000.

Great prizes are also won in the shorter races.

An awards ceremony – including a bowl of Arctic char chowder for all – will be held at the community centre at 3:30 p.m.
