CrossFit athlete off to world championship

Whitehorse athlete Erin Light has qualified for the world championships following a second-place finish at the CrossFit Canada West regional championship in Richmond, B.C. on June 9.

Whitehorse athlete Erin Light has qualified for the world championships following a second-place finish at the CrossFit Canada West regional championship in Richmond, B.C. on June 9.

Light, 26, got her start in the physically-demanding fitness regimen two years ago. She finished in the top-10 in six of the regional's seven events.

Light is a member of CrossFit Whitehorse, which runs out of Peak Fitness gym in Riverdale.

The 2013 Reebok CrossFit Games will take place in Carson, Calif. from July 22 to 28.
