Defending squash champs drop season opener

Outside the Cube defeated the defending champion team Assante 21-9 to win the first match of the new Div. 1 squash season.

Outside the Cube defeated the defending champion team Assante 21-9 to win the first match of the new Div. 1 squash season.

OTC's Blaine Tessier beat sub Peter Mather 3-0, while Chris Toleman downed Lars Johansson by the same score Tuesday night at Better Bodies.

Michael Tilbrook also bested his opponent, Stephen Buckler, by a score of three games to one.

Shirley Chua dropped the lone match OTC 3-1 to Victor Lavanderos in what was a battle of subs.

Other opening night games saw Yukon Tree Services beat Solstice Landscaping 21-10, and EBA Engineering tie TSL Construction by a combined score of 15-15.

Div. 2 action begins tonight.
