Dixon to mentor eight aspiring athletes

Former Glacier Bears swim coach Stephanie Dixon has begun her mentorship work with the next generation of Canadian athletes.

Former Glacier Bears swim coach Stephanie Dixon has begun her mentorship work with the next generation of Canadian athletes.

Dixon is a mentor with CIBC鈥圱eam Next, a program meant to provide funding and mentoring to amateur athletes preparing for the 2015 Pan Am Games in Toronto.

The Whitehorse resident recently attended an athlete forum in Toronto and began working with swimmer Hilary Caldwell, para-cyclist Louis-Albert Corriveau-Jolin, para-swimmer Danielle Kisser, para-swimmer Jean Michel Lavalliere, para-bocce player Alison Levine, swimmer Erika Sektenreich-Hodgson, swimmer Russell Wood, and wheelchair basketball player Amanda Yan.

Dixon will work closely with these athletes over the next three years.

"I am so extremely excited and proud to be a mentor with CIBC Team Next,鈥 Dixon said.
