Some of the territory's brightest hockey stars are expected to hit the ice Friday night to battle the Van Doos, a top military hockey club out of Quebec.

The Van Doos are a well-known military club formed out of the Royal 22e R茅giment.

"They take their profession very seriously, and they certainly take their hockey very seriously,鈥 Major Dan Thomas, a public affairs officer for Operation Nanook, said of the Van Doos. "It should be a good, friendly competitive game of hockey.鈥

The final local roster has not been set, said WMHA head Carl Burgess.

"A lot of the guys who are presently playing university or Jr. A hockey have been invited to play,鈥 Burgess told the Star.

"For us, it's a chance to celebrate the success and the development of those guys.鈥
