Halliday, Boehmer play starring roles on running circuit

The event, which began and ended at F.H. Collins Secondary, took place in a light rain, but the weather conditions failed to hamper Halliday, who blazed to victory with a time of 17:34.
Leef finished directly behind him, while Sam Lindsay claimed third with a time of 18:57.

Amelia Fraser was the fastest female in the competition, crossing the line in 20:20, ahead of Annette Kralis (20:45) and Sue Bogle 21:36.
In total, 32 runners and walkers competed in the championships, which featured multiple age categories.
The next major event on the Athletics Yukon calendar is the Atlin Mini Marathon, scheduled to happen Saturday at 9:30 a.m.
In other recent runs, it was Logan Boehmer who played the starring role, winning both the Baked Caf茅 One-Miler race and Grey Mountain Summer Solstice Fun Run/Walk.
Boehmer topped a field of eight men in the Baked One-Miler July 2, finishing the short run in 5:04.
There, Halliday finished second in 5:30, with Pat Brunet coming in third in 6:13.
Fraser was once again the top female runner in the race, finishing the sprint to Baked Caf茅 in six minutes flat to top the field of five women.
Bogle finished second in 6:35, followed by Jen Meurer in 8:05.
Meanwhile, on June 24, Boehmer celebrated the solstice by beating everyone to the top of Grey Mountain.
He finished in 46:47, more than five minutes ahead of the next fastest runner, Jerome McIntyre, who finished in 52:19.
Tedd Tucker and Jason Mackay tied for third among men, completing the up-and-down 12-km route from the upper Grey Mountain parking lot to the towers and back in 56:07.
Anett Kralisch earned the women鈥檚 title, finishing the gruelling race in 57:28, while Larra Daley was the runner-up with a time of 58:42.
In total, 25 runners participated.
