Gatt's Kennel's in Golden Horn was a flurry of excitement Sunday, Sept. 16 for the Dog Powered Sports Association of Yukon's September race.

Jonathan Lucas' two Rottweilers, Asha and Puck, finished one and two in the medium-weight freight pull category, while Adam Robinson's husky Toad won the light-weight competition.

Cynthia Corriveau and Foxy won the one-mile canicross with a time of 3:37, four seconds ahead of Fabian Schmitz and his dog Appleton.

Corriveau also won the two-mile, two-dog race in a time of 8:06. Stefan Wackerhagen was runner-up.

Organizers were happy with the large turnout of both dogs and drivers for the event.

Participants enjoyed great trail conditions and beautiful weather.

The next race will take place Saturday, Oct. 13 at the Chadburn Lake ski trails. This will be the last race of the dryland season.
