Elgin Schwantz helped Kilrich keep its undefeated streak alive with a single goal and three assists to lead the club to a 6-3 victory over the fourth-place Firth Rangers.
Brian Currie scored twice for Kilrich while Doug Janzen contributed a goal and two assists. Dave White and Murray Arsenault each scored once and Lorne Burnett notched up an assist.
Ryan Hennings scored twice for Firth, Guy Morgan added a single and Joel Witten, Blaine Monahan and Bruce Demchuck recorded single assists.
In a two-way tie for second heading into yesterday, the win by Klondyke Dental and a loss by Air North put the Molars into sole possession of second while Air North drops to third.
The Molars defeated EDI 5-2 on the strength of two goals by Jim Gizci and single markers by Dave Bakica, Tim Turner Davis and Mike Blower. Blower also recorded an assist, along with Tony Park, Rick Seaman, Mike Jim and Michael Knutson.
Phil Roszell and Ken Vickerman scored the two EDI goals and Ed Van Randen, Johnny Sembsmoen, Chris Simon and Bob Allison each contributed an assist. The loss ended EDI鈥檚 seven-game undefeated streak that has propelled them out of the cellar and into the hunt.
Peter Johnston was on fire last night, ringing up a hat trick and two assists to lead Medicine Chest over Air North 5-3. Ron Limoges contributed two markers for Medicine Chest and added an assist to his tally, Alfred Feldman recorded two assists and Darnell Kiriak, Shawn Kinsella and Marcel Barrault added single helpers.
Chad Cowan scored twice for Air North and Lawrence Crayford scored the other.
Warren Kapaniuk recorded two assists and Bryce Bekar had one.
Seventh-place Yukon Inn defeated eighth-place AON 5-4, led by two goals from Steve Smith and single markers by Mike Muller, Marcel Dugre-Sasseville and Bruce Williams, who also recorded an assist. Eric Von Flotow, Adam Green, Greg Charlie, Mike Sage and Gord Kuchler had one assist each for the Yukon Inn.
Rick Smith scored twice for AON, Gary McKellar recorded a goal and two assists, Martin O鈥橦agan scored once and Jeff Jensen tallied two assists.
