Klassen's six-point game caps busy hockey weekend

Derek Klassen had six points as Yukon Brewing downed Roadhouse 8-5 in A Division rec hockey action at the Canada Games Centre last night.

Derek Klassen had six points as Yukon Brewing downed Roadhouse 8-5 in A Division rec hockey action at the Canada Games Centre last night.

Klassen's goal and five assists led the way for the winning side, while Rob Warner had two goals and one helper. Kirk Gale had a goal and three assists, while Luke Bicudo scored twice in the win.

Frank Aucoin and Aaron Pettitt each added a goal and an assist to round out the scoring for Yukon Brewing.

Matt Horsey scored twice and added two assists in the loss. Scott Horsey also scored twice, while Dave Larkin added a single for Roadhouse.

Air North 7, Midget A Mustangs 2

Evan Campbell had two goals and two assists, and Robbie Stuckey scored twice as Air North downed the Midget A Mustangs 7-2 Sunday.

Kane Dawe and Phil Harry each picked up a goal and an assist in the win, while Colin Dendys scored one.

Mike Arnold scored both Mustang goals in the loss, with Liam Webster assisting on both.

Roadhouse 7, SLFS/Murphy Built 3

Matt Horsey scored a hat trick, and Scott Horsey had a goal and three assists as Roadhouse downed SLFS/Murphy Built 7-3 Saturday.

Jon Rudolph had a goal and two assists, Tim McIntosh had a goal and a helper, and Mark King rounded out the scoring in the win.

Nathan Dumont, Alain Desrochers and Shawn Whelland replied for SLFS.

Warriors 7, Yukon Brewing 7

It was a hard-fought tie between the Warriors and Yukon Brewing Friday night at Takhini Arena.

Ian Kuster had two goals and four assists to lead the Warriors, while Shawn Kolak and Derek Johnstone each scored a pair. Gus Morberg rounded out the scoring.

Derek Klassen and Aaron Pettitt each had a goal and two assists to lead Yukon Brewing, while Jason Berkers, Rob Warner, Kirk Gale, Ryan Martin and Mike Cozens added singles in a balanced team attack.

B Division

Fountain Tire 7, ORC 3

Duane Shewfelt scored twice and had two assists, Darcey Carlick had two goals and an assist, and Chris Thomas added a goal and three assists as Fountain Tire shellacked ORC Tree Services 7-3 in B Division action Sunday.

Jon Osborne and Jeff Pike each added a goal and an assist in the win.

Joe Mason had two goals and an assist to lead ORC, while Chris Roy rounded out the scoring.

Envirolube 6, Kluane Drillers 5

Curtis Murray netted a hat trick in a losing cause Saturday night as the Kluane Drillers were bested 6-5 by Envirolube at the Canada Games Centre.

Murray's teammate Greg Thompson added a goal and an assist in the loss, while James MacDonald rounded out the scoring.

Eddy Oulton led the way for Envirolube with two goals and one assist, while Rob Dawe scored once and added two helpers.

Brett Bartelen had three assists in the win, while Leroy Wolfe, Jake Morash and Tony Grotelli rounded out the scoring.

C Division

Bantam A Mustangs 3, Trans North Helicopters 1

Spencer Lessard scored twice and Nick Dobush added a goal of his own to lead the Bantam A Mustangs over Trans North 3-1 Sunday.

Tyler Martin scored for Trans North.

Castle Rock 4, Bantam A Mustangs

Ryan Miller scored twice, and Matt Brown added a goal and two assists to lead Castle Rock over the Bantam A Mustangs 4-2 Friday night. Derrick Bilodeau rounded out the scoring.

Sam Logan and scoring leader Levi Johnson replied for the Mustangs.

Women's Hockey

Green 3, Red 0

Amy Vander Wier scored a goal and picked up an assist to lead team Green to a 3-0 win over team Red in women's hockey action Sunday afternoon.

Christine Kirk and Megan Moore added singles in the win, while Cat Jamnicky recorded the shutout.

Gold 4, Blue 1

Cheryl Rivest and Haley Tomlin each had a goal and an assist to lead team Gold

over team Blue 4-1 Saturday night.

Cheri Malo and Jasmine Kaytor also scored in the win.

Stephanie Hammond scored the lone Blue goal.
