Last week's major snowfall, coupled with around-the-clock work by the grooming crew, means nearly every trail at the Whitehorse Cross Country Ski Club is considered to be in excellent shape entering this weekend.
Copper to Best Chance, Upper Valley, Dog, Selwyn's Loop, Raven, Whiskey Jack, Coyote, Pierre Harvey, the World Cup 10K and the lit trails were all groomed Tuesday morning.
Powerline, Jeff Link, World Cup 5K, 7.5K, The Wall, Monique Waterreus, Marten, Lynx and Logan Burn were groomed last weekend and remain excellent for classic and skating.
The Sarah Steele loops are labelled good for classic.
Skiers are asked not to ski on Lower Valley past the Valley Link. It is unskiable due to overflow at the South Beaver Swamp.
Suggested wax is Rode or Rex Special Green. In cold temperatures, it is recommended to extend the wax pocket by 10 cm.
The Don Sumanik Arctic Winter Games trials are set for noon Saturday and Sunday.
