No charges laid after hockey incident

The RCMP will not file charges following an altercation at a bantam hockey game last week.

The RCMP will not file charges following an altercation at a bantam hockey game last week.

"There are no charges pending,鈥 Const. Dean Hoogland told the Star this morning.

The RCMP鈥坵as investigating an incident that occurred in the third period of a game between the Great Canadian Dollar Store and the Peewee A Mustangs last Tuesday at Takhini Arena.

A penalized bantam player and an adult in the timekeeper box became involved in a skirmish that resulted in a call being made to police.

WMHA鈥坧resident Carl Burgess said the league continues to look into the matter from their end.

"We have a discipline process that is still ongoing,鈥 he said. "The discipline process needs to be used very infrequently, but we have zero tolerance for abuse and we've got to go through our process.鈥
