Division 2's top squash team retained their place atop the league standings last Thursday with a 18-13 win over Sterling Insurance.

North Star's Jen Meurer and Katherine Krabel both shut out their opponents three games to none to help secure the win.

Sam Oettli was edged 3-2 by Chance Campbell, and Lara-Rae Grant lost a close decision 3-2 to Will Chetcuti, but the two wins wouldn't be enough for Sterling.

With the win, North Star gained ground atop the standings with 96 total points this season, 15 up on second-ranked Aurora Geosciences' 81.

Third-place Better Bookkeeping beat Aurora 17-10, with each of Derek Bachman (sub), Micah Smith and Zachary Kuehner earning wins.

Jada Smith-Kwok shut out Aaron Nicholson to claim Aurora's lone victory.

Yukon Brewing Company beat High Country Inn 13-7 in the third game of the night.

Meanwhile, in Div. 1 squash action last week Tuesday, Outside the Cube was not able to overtake Yukon Tree Services in the league standings, despite a bye for the league leaders.

Outside the Cube dropped their game 21-13 to Dynamic Systems, and now have 94 total points, one shy of Yukon Tree Services.

Doug Thorseth, Ehsan Idrees and Jonathan Gorton all picked up wins for Dynamic Systems, who moved into third place. Blaine Tessier beat Sam Penner 3-2 to claim Outside the Cube's lone win.

In other Div. 1 action, EBA鈥圗ngineering defeated Assante 19-10 and Solstice Landscaping took down TSL鈥圕onstruction 18-12.
