Oldtimer Turbos douse Flames 5-1, keep hold on second

Alain Pelletier and Brian Currie each added a goal and two assists as the Turbos retained their hold on second place in the Whitehorse Oldtimer Hockey League.
The Turbos are currently 15-10-4, and have a game in hand on Kilrich, with whom they are tied with 34 points.
Frank Thomas rounded out the scoring in the win, while Marcel Barrault provided the lone goal for the Flames.
Klondyke Dental Molars 5, Tim Hortons 2
Kevin Neufeld scored twice and added an assist as Klondyke Dental beat Tim Hortons.
Ron Sumanik, Ed van Randen and Charles Brodhagen also scored, while Andy Brickner picked up three assists.
The win pushed the Molars into fourth place, while Tim Hortons dropped to eighth.
Peter Johnston scored a goal and assisted on Kerry Pettitt's marker in the loss.
Firth Rangers 4, Air North Jets 4
The Rangers and Jets played to a 4-4 draw last Thursday at Takhini Arena.
Sixth-place Firth blew a 3-0 lead built on goals by Tom Guy, Greg Charlie and Derek Kindervater. Mike Gau rounded out the scoring.
Joel Witten got seventh-place Air North on the board, and added another late in the game. Bill Bohmer and Pat Campbell also scored, while Ron Cruikshank picked up a couple of helpers.
Medicine Chest 4, Yukon Inn 2
Mike Jim scored twice, both assisted by Dave White, as Medicine Chest beat first-place Yukon Inn.
Blaine Demchuk and Tony Park added goals as the fifth-place Medicine Chest built up a 4-0 lead in the first.
Pat Tobler and Andy Smith got the Yukon Inn within two in the second, but it wouldn't be enough. Chad Cowan picked up assists on both goals.
Kilrich 9, Performance Centre Turbos 6
In the battle for second place last Wednesday, Kilrich topped the Turbos 9-6.
Elgin Schwantz picked up six points, and Steve Smith had four in the win.
Schwantz, Smith and Rick Gingell each scored twice, while Dean Mackay had a goal and two assists. Bruce Williams and Jeff Kalles rounded out the scoring.
Turbos player Brian Currie netted a hat trick in the loss, while Jason Freake had two goals and one assist. Frank Thomas also scored, while Alain Pelletier picked up three assists.
