The 40-year-old made all the right moves en route to victory in the long distance championships held yesterday on Grey Mountain.
Pearson completed the 6.6-km expert course in 58:07, earning his second victory of the season in the three-meet championship series.
Lee Hawkings, the orienteer who had earned the mid-distance meet crown last week, finished well back of Pearson in the tiebreaker, completing the course in 71:41 to claim third.
Brent Langbakk was second to Pearson in 61:18.
The meet was held at the Magnusson ski trails. A total of 66 orienteers competed.
Ross Burnett was tops in the advanced course of 4.9 km, completing it in 55:39. Katherine Sheepway was second to the finish line, in 59:16.
Twenty-seven competitors took on the 2.7-km intermediate route, won by Georgi Pearson in 38:25. Jake Brown finished as runner-up in 39:04.
Meanwhile, Zeke Dukart and Jan Malfair combined to win the two-km event in 26:07, with Pamela Brown crossing the finish line in 26:34.
The orienteering season will continue with regular meets until September.
