Playoff MVP John Apostol paces KFC to Pinoy hardcourt victory

John Apostol scored 24 points to lead KFC to the Yukon Pinoy Basketball League title at Porter Creek Secondary School on April 6.

John Apostol scored 24 points to lead KFC to the Yukon Pinoy Basketball League title at Porter Creek Secondary School on April 6.

Aaron Diaz chipped in 16 points and Wren Agapito netted 13 as KFC topped the Pilinians 75-70 to win the league title.

The Pilinians were led by Noel Pagobo's game-high 41 points. Ian Pagobo added 17 in the loss.

In the third-place game, Gray Management Services edged Viernes Janitorial 79-75 in a hard-fought match.

Gray Management Services was led by Ian New's 24 points and EJ New's 22. Joesel Rumbaoa chipped in with 13.

John Madrigal led all scorers with 34 points, while Christian Carino and David Mindanao each had 12 for Viernes Janitorial.

The league also announced it's award winners.

EJ New was named league MVP, while Apostol was playoff MVP.

The "Mythical Five鈥 all-麻豆社区team was made up of C Noel Pagobo, F EJ New, F Christian Carino, G John Apostol and G Diore Ulgasan.
