The schedule is set for the 2014 ISF Junior Men's World Softball Championship in Whitehorse.

The 2014 championship will be held July 11 to 20 at the Pepsi Softball Centre.

Ten teams from five continents will unite for 45 games in a round-robin format, followed by four playoff (page playoff system) games.

Opening day will feature all teams in action, starting at 12:30 p.m. local time when Singapore takes on Japan. Opening ceremonies begin at 5:30 on the main competition field, and will be followed by Canada's first matchup of the championship, where the Canucks will meet the Czech Republic in front of the home crowd.

A key contest will be the rematch of the 2012 gold medal game between Argentina and Japan, when they face each other on July 16 at 5 p.m.

Defending champion Argentina earned the honour of being South America's first-ever softball world champion across any category.

The 2014 gold medal game will take centre stage on July 20 at 4 p.m., and will be preceded by the bronze medal match at 1.

"This is always an exciting moment for the fans, athletes, entire national team delegations and the local organizing committee,鈥 International Softball Federation president Dale McMann said in a press release.

"The athletes will be ever-more focused and motivated, and this is what sport is all about. These athletes are the stars and this will be their international stage to shine, to represent their countries and to measure themselves against their young peers around the world.鈥
