The return of the Silver Sled race will be celebrated with a Yukon-style party next month.

A Revival Bash is being organized at the St. Elias Convention Centre in Haines Junction for Saturday, Oct. 12.

Festivities will include a pig roast, live music by the Brass Knuckle Society and a silent auction.

Tickets are $25 at 6 p.m. (includes dinner), or $15 at 8:30 p.m. (music and silent auction only). Minors are welcome until 9 p.m. at a cost of $12, while kids under 12 are free.

The 100-mile sled dog and skijor race runs from Haines Junction to Silver City and back on the southern shore of Kluane Lake.

The race will be held next year on the same weekend as the Sportsman, Chili Paw and Frank and Josie Sias junior race.

The race has not been held for the past four years.

The race committee is currently seeking donations for the silent auction, including artwork, mushing gear in good condition, certificates for services, and other items.

Volunteers are also being sought for bartending, security, set up and take down for the revival party.

Those who have questions about the Silver Sled race, or the upcoming celebration, are encouraged to call 634-2884 or email silversledrace@gmail.com.
