Financial struggles aside, Mount Sima is looking forward to unleashing a summer of fun via its Monkido Aerial Adventure and zip lines.

Thanks to a revamped partnership agreement between the Great Northern Ski Society (GNSS) and WildPlay Element Parks (WildPlay), residents and visitors in the Yukon region will once again have the opportunity to experience primal fun and games when WildPlay Element Parks opens May 24.

Launching their second season at Mt. Sima Alpine Adventure Park, WildPlay offers a unique duo of Elements: the Monkido Aerial Adventure and high-speed ZOOM Zip Lines.

"We're excited to welcome guests back to WildPlay Yukon this month, and introduce new people to the surprising outdoor Elements,鈥 said Craig Hougen, president of Great Northern Ski Society.

"Developing our summer activities has been an important part of Mt. Sima's overall business strategy, and this year we're pleased to continue that effort with added support from WildPlay Element Parks.

"While we at GNSS are working with various stakeholders to determine a long-term sustainable operating model for Mt. Sima, the team at WildPlay will lend their financial support and operational expertise to continue to provide summer adventure recreation to adults, teens, and kids in the Whitehorse area,鈥 Hougen added.

The Monkido Aerial Adventure and ZOOM Zip Lines Elements will be the focus of summer operations at Mt. Sima.

Although it will mark a scaled-down lineup of activities in comparison to previous summer seasons at the mountain, offering the WildPlay products will benefit individuals and the community of Whitehorse.

People ages seven and older will continue to have a fun way to be active and explore nature, while the park provides added tourism appeal to the region and reinforces awareness for Mt. Sima and the Great Northern Ski Society continues to mature their business model for year-round operations.

The Elements that will re-open on May 24th include the Monkido Aerial Adventure (Classic, Buddy, and Kids courses), which consists of dozens of suspended games that progress in height and intensity, and

are suitable for people ages seven and older to climb, zip line, and swing across.

The ZOOM Zip Lines will also resume adrenalin-pumping tours of the hillside, with four high-speed lines (including one of Canada's longest flights at one-km) suitable for all ages.

A new agreement has been hammered out with WildPlay and Mount Sima. The WildPlay website says the Yukon is the first franchise they have had outside of BC ... so who holds the franchise in Yukon ... is it Great Northern Ski Society? or someone else? Is this a case of a non-profit being a "for-profit" franchise holder? Was this part of a business plan? It would be interesting to know the obligations that GNSS assumed if they are the franchise holder.

Wait, I thought Mt. Sima was black-mailing city council and taxpayers with the story that they couldn't afford to open this summer if they didn't receive $400k? So did Mt. Sima get the money or was their story a load of BS?
