The local award for top junior skier will be shared this year.
Dahria Beatty and Janelle Greer, both previous winners, received the Monique Waterreus Award after fantastic seasons.
The award, which comes with a $200 cheque to help the athletes with training expenses, was presented at the Whitehorse Cross Country Ski Club's annual general meeting on Wednesday.
Yukon Ski Team head coach Alain Masson made the presentation.
Greer took home the award last year, while Beatty previously won in 2010.
Both skiers competed in the junior women's category in national and international races, and each of them earned their share of time on the podium.
The two skiers currently live in Canmore, training full-time at the Alberta World Cup Academy.
"Trying to pick one skier is always tough,鈥 said new ski club board president Anne Kennedy.
"We have had such a great depth of field for the last few years that the decision is getting and harder. It's a great problem to have as a club.鈥
The award is named in honour of Monique Waterreus, a top cross-country skier in Whitehorse in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
"She was a high performer in her day,鈥 explained Claude Chabot, executive director of the ski club. "Her whole family was very heavily involved in skiing here.鈥
Chabot said the longstanding award has been handed out to many high-profile skiers in recent years.
"We have a phenomenal crop of skiers here right now,鈥 he said.
"We're highly regarded nationally. It's pretty impressive.鈥
