The territory鈥檚 24-athlete contingent was competing at the Special Olympic Summer Games last week.
On Saturday, the Yukon soccer club won gold in a thrilling C division final, with Michael Sumner providing the clinching goal in penalty kicks.
鈥淭hat was the first goal he had ever scored in tournament play,鈥� said Special Olympic Yukon鈥檚 executive director Serge Michaud.
Owen Munroe and Kenny Atlin also scored in the shootout, while keeper Gaetan Michaud stopped two of three shots to lead his club over New Brunswick, 3-2.
The local bocce team won a bronze in their division, while the bowling team took silver in a hard-fought loss to Ontario.
The Games wrapped up with a closing ceremony Saturday night.
鈥淭he whole organization is just really proud,鈥濃�圡ichaud said.
He said the athletes worked hard and their training paid off with a variety of personal bests and medals.
鈥淲hen you see the end results ... all three of our team sports won a medal. It was just an insane day (Saturday),鈥� said Michaud.
