Ontario beat B.C. No. 1 to win the national championship.
For the first time in six years, the Yukon sent a team to the tournament, which took place over three days at the Vancouver Racquets Club. The seven-person team was made up of female players Lori Muir, Terri Cairns and Shirley Chua, and male players Khoon Chua, Eric Bardin, Chris Toleman and Jim Gilpin.
In round-robin play, the Yukon dropped back-to-back games 7-0 to Alberta and B.C. No. 1.
On Saturday, they fared a bit better, but still lost to Quebec 5-2.
The Yukon lost the consolation semifinal 5-2 to Manitoba, and went on to drop the battle for seventh to Quebec, 6-1.
Both Muir and Cairns gave strong performances.
Cairns won three of five matches, while Muir took two.
"That's a great result for a Yukon team,鈥 said Chua. "They did very well.鈥
