A group of past Whitehorse Mustang greats will square off with one of the country's top military teams tonight under the Friday night lights at the Canada Games Centre.

The Van Doos, a well-known military club formed out of the Royal 22e R茅giment in Quebec, will battle the Mustangs alumni in a charity game meant to benefit the Whitehorse Food Bank.

Game time is 7 p.m. with admission by cash donation or a non-perishable food item.

The game marks the completion of Operation Nanook, a mock disaster exercise that saw 550 soldiers training in the territorial capital this week.

The two teams' preliminary rosters were released to the Star this morning, and the Whitehorse side will feature a variety of local greats, including the Stephens brothers 鈥 Ted, David and Burt 鈥 as well as Brett Roulston of the WHL Prince George Cougars.

Ted and David Stephens have played for the QMJHL's Moncton Wildcats.

Kane Dawe and Robbie Stuckey of the A Division champion Air North Jets will also be playing.

While Stuckey hasn't hit the ice since the Jets' rec league championship win in April, he said fans should be in for a good time tonight at the rink.

"All of us grew up together,鈥 Stuckey said of the alumni roster. "It will be fun. We haven't played an organized game altogether since minor hockey, but our chemistry is still there.

"We'll try to put together some fancy plays, but I'm not sure that will work out,鈥 Stuckey added. "I'm expecting to go up against a pretty good team.鈥
