鈥淭hat鈥檚 what was really nice. It was fun on the plane. We got to sit with them. We each got a row and we sat with our own son.鈥
Bogle said Dylan liked having her around.
鈥淲hen they鈥檙e 16, 17 or age 15 maybe, they鈥檙e not so impressed about having their parents around. But obviously now he鈥檚 in his early 20s and past that, I think (he) really enjoyed having me and of course all the guys have their moms there. So it鈥檚 like you鈥檙e all in it together.鈥
Bogle said the team seems to be on an upswing.
鈥淭he idea of the playoffs is still a long way off and they have a big hill to climb but just the fact that they鈥檙e even in the conversation for a wild card race is exciting. They have a lot of potential and they鈥檝e had some really great success and because they get along, it just kind of plays into that.
鈥淭heir effort is there. They鈥檙e fighting hard.鈥
鈥淒ylan just feeds off that crowd. He loves that crowd,鈥 said Bogle.
鈥淚 think he鈥檚 excited about the future. I think he sees being there. Obviously, anything can happen, trades happen, but they seem to be building this group of core guys to stay there for the long term.鈥
Cozens has purchased a townhouse in Buffalo. Bogle said he sees Buffalo as a place he鈥檚 potentially going to be for a while.
鈥淗e鈥檚 settled in as much as you can be when you鈥檙e 21 years old.鈥 (Dylan just turned 22 Thursday.)
Bogle added that it鈥檚 always great to see the support of Yukoners at Canucks games. She also likes the 鈥淲orkhorse from Whitehorse鈥 nickname Dylan has acquired (thanks to Gord Miller of TSN).
鈥淭hat nickname, I think it鈥檚 his now forever,鈥 said Bogle. 鈥淚 love it because it reminds everybody where he鈥檚 from.鈥
Cozens signed a seven-year, $47.7 million contract extension on Monday. The first year includes $5.1M plus a $2M signing bonus. All other years are at $7.1M.
Years five to seven of the contract feature a five-team no-trade clause.
鈥淚 am super-excited to have signed a long-term contract with my team as I am invested in the Sabres and the city and people of Buffalo and hoping to help get them back in the playoffs,鈥 said Cozens. 鈥淢y ultimate goal is of course to help to one day bring a Stanley Cup to Buffalo and travelling (with) one to the Yukon.鈥
