Ten schools, 250 students hit trail for annual Vanier Ridge Run
Approximately 250 runners took to the trail Friday afternoon for the annual Vanier Ridge Run.
Approximately 250 runners took to the trail Friday afternoon for the annual Vanier Ridge Run.
The students ran either a three- or five-kilometre route, based on their age category.
Novice, Atom and Peewee athletes ran the three-km course, while Bantam, Midget, Juvenile and Junior runners completed five km.
The following ten schools participated: Vanier Catholic Secondary (VAN), F.H. Collins Secondary (FH), Porter Creek Secondary (PC), Selkirk Elementary (SEL), Christ the King Elementary (CKES), Holy Family Elementary (HF), Jack Hulland Elementary (JH), St. Elias School, 脡cole 脡milie-Tremblay (EET) and Whitehorse Elementary (WES).
Results were tallied as follows:
FEMALE
Atom (age 8 & 9): Jasmine Sealy (SEL) 28.50; Willow Oakley (St. Elias) 33.27; Andrea Pham (CKES) 34.57.
Peewee (age 10 & 11): Sonjaa Schmidt (HF) 23.17; Celeste Findlay (WES) 26.31; Hannah Jacobs (JH) 26.32.
Bantam (age 12 & 13): Reena Coyne (WES) 27.06; Savannah Cash (WES) 27.34; Lara Herry Saint-Onge (EET) 31.31.
Midget (age 14 & 15): Hannah Deuling (FH) 26.38; Natalie Hynes (FH) 27.36; Kestrel Martin (PC) 27.47.
Juvenile (age 16 & 17): Adrienne Hynes (FH); Sara Burke-Forsythe (FH); Kelly Munroe-Glada (VAN).
Junior (age 18 & 19): Heather Clarke (VAN) 27.11.
