Tirgar too hot for Yukon Info

Mehrdad Tirgar hasn鈥檛 been part of the over 35鈥檚 soccer league for a number of years, but has been a revelation since returning, making up for lost time banging in the goals for fun, as his Pepsi side overcame a determined Yukon Info.com team 5-2.
The game started well for the Orangemen, they seemed to be controlling affairs and this was confirmed when skipper and marauding striker George Maratos got the opener. A fine Jim Brown goal enabled Yukon Info to regain the lead 2-1, at this point things seemed well on course for Yukon Info鈥檚 first win of the season. However, with Mehrdad in great form teasing the defenders in front of him before shooting on goal and Danny Macdonald finding gaps in the Info鈥檚 rearguard, Pepsi were able to score late and quickly to extend their lead in the league, making it nine points from three games with a well-deserved win. Scorers for Pepsi were Tirgar (2) Macdonald (2) and a goal for Joe Morrison.
KBS breach Yukon Brewing鈥檚 defence
Yukon Brewing鈥檚 team is made up of men fashioned from rock, they are big, scary looking and fearless in the tackle. Mark O鈥橞rien, Leonard Linklater and Keith Maguire make up a formidable trio at the back, it would be difficult to get past them with a cannon, but somehow tiny Justin Carre was able to do it, as he led his Klondike Business Solutions team to a deserved tie.
The Brew started well, carving out scoring chances, then maintaining the lead with a great work ethic and fine communication.
Eric Murphy scored with about his only touch of the game, backed up well with goals from David Strachan and Brian Fiddler giving Yukon Brewing a healthy advantage going into the final 10 minutes of the game. This was when Carre upped his game, driving at the heart of the Brew鈥檚 back-line, opening up space for others to exploit. KBS sensed blood, sending up men to overwhelm tiring men in black. They pulled one back through Andy Todd and when Carre scored the leveller to make it 3-3 no one was surprised.
