TransCanada returns as major Quest sponsor
TransCanada has returned as a major sponsor of the Yukon Quest 1,000 Mile International Sled Dog Race, joining the 2013 team as Official Volunteer Sponsor for the Canadian side.

This will be the sixth year TransCanada has been a sponsor of the Yukon Quest, as they had previously provided support from 2007 to 2011. This is the company's fifth year at the major sponsor level.

"This event is more than a sled dog race鈥攊t connects and fosters a sense of pride in communities all across the top of the world.
"We are very proud to be part of this event as it recognizes the special bond between Canada and the United States and celebrates the uniqueness of Northern culture.鈥�
TransCanada is a leader in the responsible development and reliable operation of North American energy infrastructure including natural gas and oil pipelines, power generation and gas storage facilities.
TransCanada operates a network of natural gas pipelines that extends more than 68,500 kilometers (42,500 miles), tapping into virtually all major gas supply basins in North America.

The 2013 Yukon Quest starts February 2 in Whitehorse.
To date, 21 mushers have signed up to run the 30th anniversary edition of the race.
