"There was a lot of new teams and a lot of new players this season,鈥 said league president Melanie Brais. "On a whole, the season was very successful in my view.鈥
Some teams will compete in out-of-town tournaments in Atlin and Dawson City before putting their bats and gloves away for another winter.
Brais said the local co-ed league is in dire need of umpires, and those interested should stay tuned to the Softball Yukon website for details on upcoming clinics.
"The league desperately needs umpires,鈥 she said.
