This week's trail report from the Whitehorse Cross Country Ski鈥圕lub came with a warning.

Wolves have been spotted on Mount McIntyre's ski trails.

"Skiers with dogs are warned to be vigilant and use a leash. For added safety, carrying bear spray is an option,鈥 the report stated.

Besides the warnings, cross-country skiing remains good for both classic and skating at the club.

Dog, Sundog, Copper to Copper Haul Road,鈥圠ower Valley, Logan Burn, the Descent, Ketza Connector, the stadium and the lit trails were all groomed Wednesday morning.

Most of the trails have been groomed in the past week and remain in good condition. The club does recommend using caution on all downhill sections, however.

The Ascent will be groomed again today, and both it and the Descent are expected to be good for weekend skiing.

Skiers are requested to use caution on the Descent as it is a multi-use trail and snowmobiles may be encountered.

Suggested wax is RODE鈥圫pecial Green. Temperatures are expected to fluctuate throughout February however, which will affect wax choices. Ask staff at the ski base for assistance.
