The Subway Ski S'Cool is set to run for another successful year at the Whitehorse Cross Country Ski Club.
This year, more than 200 youngsters from local kindergarten, Grade 1 and 2 classes will be hitting the trails during the month of February to receive healthy doses of fun and snow.
The Subway Ski S'Cool program was developed to introduce young children to cross-country skiing. They do a series of weekly lessons with experienced instructors to introduce them to basic ski skills. Each lesson runs for an hour and
they learn ski skills like turtle, pizza, and french fry.
That may not sound like skiing, but the kids will quickly learn what those terms mean and they'll be confidently skiing within three lessons.
The school will run for three weeks in February.
It's a great opportunity for kids who have never been exposed to the sport, to try it with quality instructors and equipment provided by the ski club.
Subway is a longstanding sponsor of events and programs at the club. Their exclusive sponsorship ensures the success of the program every year.
