Many Yukon youngsters will be hanging up their cleats for the summer following their end-of-season tournaments held last weekend in Whitehorse.
Many Yukon youngsters will be hanging up their cleats for the summer following their end-of-season tournaments held last weekend in Whitehorse.
The U13 and U15 divisions will close the book on the current season this weekend with their own Yukon championships.
While tournament scores were not reported, the victories leading up to the year-end tournaments were.
In U9 action last Thursday, Jonny Timmon scored the lone goal to lead Whitehorse Auto Spa to a 1-0 victory over Cambio Consulting.
In U10 play last week, Austin Larkin struck four times and Hunter Long added a hat trick as SDC Software drubbed Budget Plumbing and Heating 11-0. Marko Cooper (2), Wynne Anderson-Lindsay, and Gavin Spence also scored in the blowout.
Budget would rebound to win their next game however, defeating Claims-pro 3-2 on goals by Noah Connell, Alan Johnson and Lucas Taggart-Cox.
In U11 action, Ty Beacon sniped the lone goal of the game as North of Ordinary beat It's Lunchtime last Wednesday.
Meanwhile in U13 play, Adorna Landscaping beat The Eagles 5-3 last Tuesday thanks to a hat trick from Chad Williams and singles from Brandon Petelski and Nicole Farkas.
Eagles Âé¶¹ÉçÇøBryce Anderson scored a hat trick in the loss.
In other games, Auston Au struck three times and Ashton Bryant added two as Coates Services beat Safety Management 7-1. Logan Kruse and Rhys Faragher also scored in the win, while Sahcho Jack netted one for the losing side.
Adorna Landscaping went on to beat Safety Management 8-2 last Thursday thanks to four goals by Amy Vanderkley and a hat trick by Jamie Phillips-Freedman. Chad Williams also scored in the win, while Jordanna Sias and Chai McDiarmid scored in a losing cause.
Last week's U7 game results were also reported without scores.
Noemie Laframboise-Guindon and Heidi Nash were players of the game in a contest between the Whitehorse Star and All Paws Veterinary Clinic.
Sequoia Kitchens and Design player Emma Geier was lauded for her work ethic in a game versus Angellina's Toy Boutique, who received energetic performances from River Gabriel Horn and Annie McNeil.
Mackenzie Waldner starred for Sportslife in their match against the Yukon Outfitters Association, who had both Kaelan Basnett and Kya Larkin working hard.
Finally, Zoe Underhill and Caleigh McKone both played well for their respective teams in a match between The Deli 1 and Robert Service Campground.
