Yukon Inn vaults into first place with 5-3 win over Klondyke Dental

Gord Campbell and Shawn McLeod each had a goal and an assist as Yukon Inn beat the Klondyke Dental Molars 5-3 in oldtimer hockey action Sunday night at Takhini Arena.

The win vaulted Yukon Inn past Kilrich into first place in the Oldtimer Hockey League with 26 points, though Kilrich has 24 and a game in hand.

Lorne Burnett, Warren Kapaniuk and Chad Cowan were the other scorers in the win.

Gerry Rivest had a goal and an assist, and Brian Boorse and Charles Brodhagen also dented the twine for the Molars in the loss.

Medicine Chest 6, Air North Jets 3

Medicine Chest stormed out to a 3-0 lead, and never trailed in the game as they cruised to victory over the Air North Jets.

Marty O'Hagan scored a hat trick, including the winner, while Jim Giczi scored twice and added an assist for the surging Medicine Chest. Ron Billingsley rounded out the scoring.

Mike Jim had three assists, while Gord Peterson added a pair.

Bill Bohmer, Joel Witten and Guy Gorrell replied for Air North, with Phil Roszell assisting on all three.

AON Flames 5, Firth Rangers 3

Alfred Feldman's pair of goals helped the Flames douse the Rangers 5-3.

Mark Pike, Shawn Kinsella and Greg Schaffer added singles in the win, while Mike Muller chipped in two assists.

Jason Cunning and Mike Rispin both had a goal and an assist in the loss. Mike Gau added a single for Firth, while Dave Ecker had two assists.

Performance Centre Turbos 6, Kilrich 4

Jason Freake had a hat trick and one assist, and Terry Berquist scored a goal and assist as the Turbos blew by Kilrich. Daniel Janke and Dean Hassard rounded out the scoring.

Rich Moses and Daryl Berube each had a pair of assists.

Tim Turner-Davis netted a pair of goals and Steve Smith and Gary Boyd had the others for Kilrich.

In Wednesday night action:

Tim Hortons 9, Yukon Inn 5

Blayne Monahan scored five goals and added an assist as Tim Hortons downed Yukon Inn.

Peter Johnston had five assists to go along with a pair of goals, while Brent Stokes had a goal and three assists.

Tom Ullyett rounded out the scoring, and both Bruce Milligan and Chuck Tobin had two assists.

Sean McLeish led Yukon Inn with a pair of goals and an assist.

Rick Blaker had a goal and three helpers, while Chad Cowan had a goal and two assists.

Lorne Burnett added a single for Yukon Inn, while Gord Campbell also had two assists.

Firth Rangers 7, Kilrich 4

Mike Rispin's six-point night helped him retain his grip on the league's scoring race.

His goal and five assists, alongside Derek Kindervater's hat trick, helped Firth down Kilrich 7-4.

Greg Charlie had a goal and two assists, Jason Cunning had a goal and helper, and Mike Gau rounded out the scoring in the win.

Walt Liley had a pair of goals for Kilrich, while Mike Knutson added a goal and two assists. Darius Cassie rounded out the scoring.
