Yukon Mustangs sweep series against Crimson Bears
For the second year in a row, the Yukon Mustangs swept their visiting Alaskan rivals in six games.

Last weekend the Yukon Mustangs U16 Minor Midgets faced off against the Juneau-Douglas High School (JDHS) Crimson Bears Senior Varsity team, while the U15 Bantam Mustangs took on the JDHS Junior Varsity Crimson Bears.
Yukon Mustangs assistant coach Carl Burgess said that it鈥檚 the second time the Crimson Bears have made the trip to Whitehorse to start off their season.
鈥淲e鈥檙e getting to know them quite well,鈥 he said.
The games were generally one-sided, with the Mustangs dominating the scoreboard.
Burgess said that he and head coach Martin Lawrie are trying to get the Mustangs to all play together as a team.
鈥淭he trick is getting them all to perform at the same time,鈥 he said. 鈥淲hen they do, they demonstrate themselves to be unstoppable and a force to be reckoned with.鈥
The Minor Midgets now face a road trip tournament in Alaska 鈥 the Alaska Wolves tournament, where the U16 team will be playing in the competitive U18 division 鈥 followed by hosting the Notre Dame Hounds for a five-game series at the beginning of December.
鈥淲e鈥檙e happy with how it鈥檚 coming together,鈥 said Burgess. 鈥淭he boys are putting in the work.鈥
