Rodney Hulstein was at the top of the pack in this year's Yukon 10-kilometre championships.

More than 25 runners and walkers gathered in the F.H. Collins Secondary School parking lot on Tuesday night before taking to the 2.5-km and 5-km routes on Millennium Trail and competing in the championships.

Hulstein, competing in the 20-39 division, completed the distance in 35 minutes flat, topping last year's winning time of 35 minutes and 24 seconds set by Logan Roots.

Hot on Hulstein's tail was Ray Sabo, who crossed the finish line just one second later.

Rounding out the top three was Logan Boehmer who reached the finish in 36:54.

The top junior runner was Aiden Bradely who finished in 40:29 and set the sixth fastest time on the day.

Thomas Tetz was the first masters runner to reach the finish, completing the race in 40:29 in the 40-49 division.

Local running mainstays Tom Ullyett and Don White were just behind Tetz leading the way in the 50-59 and 60-69 divisions with times of 41:49 and 43:59.

The top female on the night was Margaret Mundell who reached the finish in 51:21 while competing in the masters women 50-59 division.

She was followed by Haley Henderson who finished in 52:04 in the 40-49 division.
